Randwick City Stakes

The 2011 Randwick City Stakes Fields have been released with ten horses in action for the Group 3 race on Saturday March 12th at Warwick Farm Racecourse.

Entry is for three year old’s and above with the race run over a good trip of 2120m.

The field has an interesting mix with not a lot of recent wins between them but plenty which have shown promise throughout their careers.

Lorne Dancer is one such horse and will carry the top weight in the 2011 Randwick City Stakes with 58kgs.

The trade off is a good draw with barrier 2 but the Gai Waterhouse trained horse is 5kg’s worse off than most runners.

In fact Larry’s Never Late with 56.5kgs and Strike One with 53.5kgs are the only ones not carrying the bottom weight.

Chris Waller is the most represented trainer in the field with Strike One, Alexander Of Hales and his most notable entry Beijing Boy.

This could be the race for Beijing Boy to show his real class with barrier 1 and 53kgs leaving him no excuses.

John P Thompson is the other trainer with more than one hope, fielding a double headed charge with the half brothers of Saint Encosta and Count Encosta.
